Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains, transparently, what information Ecoturista collects, what it is used for and what your choices are. It describes the site’s actual behavior — nothing beyond what really happens here.

Information we collect

No registration is required to browse. As with any website, the server keeps basic technical access records (such as IP address, browser type and pages visited) in security and operations logs, used in aggregate form. Beyond that, we only process personal data that you yourself send us through the forms described below.

Cookies

We use essential cookies, required for the site to work, and we store your consent choice in a first-party cookie that contains no personal data. Statistics cookies are only used if you accept them in the cookie notice — until then, no analytics tool is loaded. Details, purposes and durations are in our Cookie Policy, and you can review your choice at any time in the Cookie preferences section further down this page.

Advertising and affiliates

Today Ecoturista does not display third-party advertising and does not use affiliate links. If that changes in the future, ads and sponsored links will be identified, and this policy and the cookie notice will be updated before anything is activated.

Contact form

When you use the Contact page, you send us your name, e-mail, subject and message. This data is used exclusively to read and reply to your message and is not shared with third parties.

Newsletter

Your e-mail address only joins our list with your explicit consent, given by you in the sign-up form. The address is stored privately, is never sold or shared, and every e-mail we send includes an unsubscribe link — once used, the address is marked to receive no further messages.

Links to third-party websites

Our content links to external websites, such as the official sources of parks and environmental agencies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and we recommend reading their policies when you visit them.

External resources

To display its pages, the site loads a few third-party resources: typefaces come from Google Fonts and, on the Map page only, the Leaflet library comes from the cdnjs (Cloudflare) CDN and the map tiles come from OpenStreetMap. When serving these files, each provider receives technical connection data (such as the IP address) needed to answer the request. None of these resources is an analytics or advertising tool, and none of them sets cookies on this site.

Security and retention

The forms have anti-abuse measures (submission limits computed with temporary keys — no raw IP address is stored by these measures). Contact messages remain in the receiving mailbox until handled and deleted; the newsletter e-mail address is kept until you unsubscribe or request removal. There is no fixed retention period — you can request deletion at any time through the channels below.

Your rights over your data

You can ask us at any time for information about any data we may process about you, and for its correction or deletion — including removing your e-mail from the newsletter list. Just reach us through the Contact page: we answer these requests wherever in the world you are.

Ecoturista follows Brazil’s General Data Protection Law (Law No. 13,709/2018). We also recognize the equivalent rights set out in other frameworks — such as the European GDPR and US state privacy laws: in practice, access, correction and deletion requests are handled the same way for every visitor.

Cookie Policy

This policy explains which cookies Ecoturista uses, what for, and how you control that choice. It describes the site’s actual behavior.

What cookies are

Cookies are small files your browser stores to remember information between visits — such as a preference of yours or a signed-in session.

Necessary cookies (always on)

These make the site work and therefore do not depend on consent: the eco_consent cookie, which stores your own cookie choice (accepted category and notice version — no personal data, valid for 6 months), and technical WordPress cookies used only in specific situations, such as admin sessions. Regular browsing stores nothing beyond that.

Statistics cookies (require your consent)

These help us understand, in aggregate, how the site is used. Today no third-party analytics tool is active on this site. When Google Analytics is activated, it will only load — and only set cookies — after you accept the cookie notice; without acceptance, nothing loads. Advertising signals (ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization) remain permanently denied: the site does not use advertising cookies.

How to control

On your first visit, the cookie notice offers Accept and Decline with equal prominence — declining does not limit your browsing. You can change your mind at any time with the Cookie preferences button just below, which reopens the notice. You can also delete cookies in your browser.

To review your choice now, use the button below — the cookie notice will reopen.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated to reflect changes to the site or to legislation — the most recent version will always be on this page. Last updated: August 2026.
